About

Elke is a travel photographer and writer based in London, UK. Born abroad and introduced to visual travel storytelling through the work and influence of her father, she owned her first camera at the age of 8.

Her background in architecture influences Elke's photography significantly, which is evident in the use of composition, lines, and light. She is a meticulous researcher and careful editor, while shooting at lifestyle speed. With a passion for details, Elke creates images that tell rich and beautiful stories and has become known for a signature visual style.

Her portfolio records day-to-day scenes of contemporary creative culture, the transient beauty found in the landscapes of travel and adventures in the great outdoors – all seen through an urbanite's eye. In constant search of new places, cultures and flavours, she captures the excitement of the open road and new locations, but also the joy of returning to favourite haunts and sharing them with friends and community.

Working with clients, she aims to fuse her own style with theirs to create strong imagery within existing visual identities. She loves to share the client’s story with her global audience as well as providing high quality travel and lifestyle content. Elke enjoys to curate streams of imagery in fresh and relevant ways, finding the visual voice of places and products, supporting social media strategies and engagement for brands and destinations.

Elke has contributed photo essays and travel writing to print magazines, travel guides and photo books. The book My Tiny Atlas:Our World Through Your Eyes introduces her as travel photographer and includes a chapter on her photography style. A second book with Ten Speed Press/Penguin Random House comes out Spring 2022. Her personal story of expat life and travelling can be found on @elice_f Instagram / VSCO / EyeEm.
